This 2025 remix project of Paul McCartney’s solo recording “Every Night” was originally intended to be a YouTube Short. However, since it runs over one minute, it couldn’t be published on the Shorts platform — which is why there’s no standard accompanying video. It was meant as a small bonus release between my main remix projects.

Though a simple remix, it offers a fresh way to enjoy this beautiful and understated song. Fans familiar with the original stereo mix will recall that the bass and drums were placed far apart from each other. At the time of the song’s release, it was common practice for both bass and drums to sit in the center rather than on the far edges of the stereo field.

In this new 2025 remix, the bass has been moved from the left of center to totally center, and the drums from the extreme right channel to the center—allowing them to complement each other and create a more cohesive “center of gravity,” rather than contrasting from opposite sides. A benefit from this move is that now you will hear the acoustic guitars stand out a bit more due to not sharing space with any other instrument.

No other changes were made.

Paul recorded “Every Night” at Abbey Road Studios on February 22, 1970 while recovering from the shock of The Beatles break-up, performing every instrument himself and overdubbing his vocal in a few spots. The song appeared as the fourth track on Side One of his debut solo album McCartney, released in April of that same year. He first introduced “Every Night” to The Beatles during the Get Back sessions in January 1969, where it was attempted twice but never fully developed.

I hope you enjoy this “in-between” bonus — and thank you so much for listening!
