In a Jeff Lynne documentary shown on BBC Four in 2012, Paul McCartney said about the song.
McCartney said in October 2021 that he still hoped to finish the track.

He claimed in 2023 that he had "just finished" utilizing artificial intelligence to extract John Lennon's voice from an old demo in order to finish the song.
