In this 1967 fan interview excerpt, Paul McCartney reveals his admiration and appreciation for the "Pre-fab Four" in no uncertain terms! NOTE: At 0:20 the interviewer is referencing the current WMCA (New York radio) survey predicting that both The Monkees and Beatles singles (Penny Lane & A Little Bit Me...) were "Sure Shots" ( the stations' "speculation" phrase for the projected success of a record) and she seems a bit miffed he's not alarmed the Monkees' current popularity and success level is nearing that of The Beatles. (she to Paul: "It probably doesn't bother you...you don't care anymore") (JR)
