Paul McCartney Relinquished a Coveted Studio Day to Play on Rolling Stones’ Song.

When it was suggested that Paul McCartney contribute to the Rolling Stones' forthcoming record, even if it meant lending his own previously reserved studio time with renowned producer Andrew Watt for the session, McCartney did not need much persuading.

Zane Lowe, a podcast and radio host, asked Mick Jagger on his role in "Hackney Diamonds," the first album of new Rolling Stones songs in 18 years, on his Apple Music 1 show.

Jagger claimed that Watt had booked the Stones for a three-week recording session, wedged around a week of studio time that McCartney allegedly already had.

Although the band felt obligated to finish the project after it had languished in limbo for far too long, the producer had nonetheless assured Jagger that he was fully devoted to writing the Stones' songs.
