Paul McCartney applauded Beyoncé's interpretation of "Blackbird" from her "Cowboy Carter" album, calling it "magnificent." On April 4, the Beatles legend uploaded a selfie of himself and Beyoncé to Instagram. In his caption, he stated that the "Texas Hold'Em" singer's "magnificent" interpretation of "Blackbird" on her new "Carter Cowboy" album "reinforces" the song's "civil rights message."

"I am so happy with @beyonce’s version of my song ‘Blackbird.’ I think she does a magnificent version of it and it reinforces the civil rights message that inspired me to write the song in the first place," wrote McCartney.
