Paul confesses that his motivation for writing his album New was his wife, Nancy Shevell. Due to the time difference (she was in New York), he used his free morning hours to write something, and then ring her up: "She's the one first one to hear them." He admits that the motivation was powerful, joking that he just hoped she never told him, "Well, that's rubbish, I don't like that one!" A beautiful portrait of love fueling creativity.
