SPOKANE, Wash. -- A capacity crowd showed up at the Spokane Arena Thursday night to see a rock and roll legend and be transported to a different time.  Paul McCartney did not disappoint.

The icon of rock grabbed the audience right from the start, giving them what they wanted, the sound of their youth, Can’t Buy Me Love.

The man who has left women screaming since he first arrived in America in 1964 then took fans on a walk down Abbey Road, to a time when all our troubles seemed so far away: when there wasn’t the shadow of a pandemic, struggling economy and war hanging over us.

McCartney’s high-energy act suspended time for more than two and a half hours.  The drive of the drums became the heartbeat of the arena as McCartney’s voice got fans back to where they started.

McCartney hasn’t forgotten where he started. He hasn’t forgotten that where it all started, Liverpool, is where everyone wanted to go.  He revealed to fans what is important to him and paid tribute to longtime producer George Martin, calling him a “cool producer.”

He reminisced about when he, John, George, Colin and Duff recorded their first demo song.  They each had the record for a week except for Duff, who somehow held onto the demo for 20 years.  McCartney then played that first song and the crowd ate it up.
