Intrepid Beatles fan/expert Andrew Dixon joins me for an in-depth discussion of Paul McCartney's 'other band', Wings.
In this first instalment we examine such vital questions as 'Was Wings really a band, or just a series of bands'?, 'Were there real actual fans of Joe English?' and 'Why did Paul choose Henry McCulloch anyway?'.
We also begin to explore and evaluate the various different line-ups of Wings, discuss some favourite songs, and all the other good stuff.
In part 1 we follow the Wings story from McCartney's work with Denny Seiwell on the Ram album in 1971, up to the moment when Denny and Henry McCulloch refuse to travel to Lagos to record 'Band on the Run'.
Hang onto your hat and join us for this epic exploration of 'The Band The Beatles Could Have Been'.
