An incredible, candid look into the creation of the most covered song in history! In this June 1992 Anthology interview, Paul McCartney reveals the identity crisis that followed the recording of Yesterday.

Producer George Martin recounts being so perplexed by the solo performance that he asked if they should credit it to "Paul McCartney" alone. Paul admits that while they were flattered by solo suggestions, they "never entertain[ed] those ideas." He then reveals the shocking truth: they didn't release it as a UK single because they were "kind of a little bit embarrassed about it," preferring their identity as a "rock and roll band" and "R&B combo."
