The Best Songs PAUL McCARTNEY Gave Away

Early on in his career, Paul McCartney relished the challenge of writing songs for other artists. Between 1963 and 1968, his relationship with Jane Asher played a key role in the creation of many of his most memorable compositions. These included those for her brother, Peter and his singing partner Gordon Waller. The songs he wrote for Cilla Black and Mary Hopkin towards the end of the decade were some of the best of his career. In this video, we look at a selection of these songs and the stories behind them.
