This is my cover of ‘Yesterday’ a song written by Paul McCartney for the Beatles. It is claimed he dreamt the melody. Fearing it was a song he already knew he played it for others to confirm its originality. McCartney later reflected that the song might be about losing his mother, admitting to lingering regrets after her death. While not a UK single, "Yesterday" topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for a month, aided by a performance on The Ed Sullivan Show the day before its US release. "Yesterday" is one of the most covered songs ever, with over 2,200 versions recorded. Paul McCartney has shared that he no longer performs "Yesterday" live, feeling he can no longer reach the high notes required to do the song justice.
